What is Dandori Academy?

Dandori Academy (Japanese title on Gematsu: だれでもチャレンジ! ダンドリ検定) is a Switch 2 Edition mode where you rush to collect as much stage treasure as possible within a time limit. Gematsu describes it as “an extensive series of Dandori exam stages” with medals for skill, while the September 2026 Nintendo Direct shows route planning examples before you sit a scored exam.

It is not a replacement for the main rescue campaign. Think of it as a structured weekly challenge layered on top of the existing Pikmin 4 sandbox.

Which version includes it, and when does it launch?

How does Academy relate to campaign Dandori?

The 2023 Nintendo store page still defines Dandori as efficient planning and covers:

• Dandori Challenges — solo timed treasure runs inside the story.
• Dandori Battles — two players on one console competing for items.

Switch 2 Edition adds:

• Dandori Academy — 72 rotating exam stages, weekly Fri–Sun official attempts, medals, and online leaderboards (VGC + Direct).
• Voice commands for Oatchi — nine commands via the Switch 2 microphone (SimplyGames).
• GameShare / GameChat support for Dandori Battles with friends who lack the cartridge (SimplyGames).

Academy therefore shares the “collect treasure fast” DNA with Challenges but adds a live-service schedule and persistent rewards the campaign lacks.

What rules should you know before exams go live?

• Weekly exams: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Direct, VGC, Pikmin Bloom).
• Practice: unlimited on open stages (SimplyGames, Bloom).
• Scored attempts: one official exam per stage per week per retail copy (SimplyGames).
• Content cadence: 72 stages, six per month (SimplyGames, Bloom).
• Difficulty: three levels (Direct).
• Social: online leaderboards plus friend comparisons (VGC, Direct).
